Some news from Bergen Triathlon for early 2010:

We have now changed the main URL of ourwebsite to www.bergentriathlo.no from www.bv3.no, where BV3 was short for "Bergen Voss Triahtlon", reflecting the race in 2008-2009. There will be auto forwarding from www.bv3.no for some time still, but please update bookmarks.

At present we experience some troubles with the web following the change. The pages are very slow, and we are looking into solving this. Pages are at same webserver so once we figure it out they willl be back to normal speed.

The weather in Bergen has been cold with lots of snow since the week before Christmas. The night from 4th. to 5th. og january was the second coldest ever recorded at downtown Bergen! We trust the old saying "cold winter gives hot summer" holds water, and are optimistically looking forward to June!

Picture shows area just south of the Airport January 5th. The white "mountain" to the left is the highest point at Sotra, the biggest island in the Øygarden group of islands to the west of Bergen and Askøy. Øygarden shelters Askøy and Hjeltefjorden between Sotra and Askøy from the North sea. The "mountain" is called Liatårnet and host what I think is a radar for the airport or something. It's approximately 330m high, and the narrow curvy road up to the radar is a very challenging climb for training. 3km with a little over 10% averge grade. Not Pyrenees, but still a lot harder than the Bergen Triathlon bike route.

Happy training!
